Location: Silverstone, Northants, UK
Reports to: Head of Engineering
Overview
Partner Electronics is looking for an experienced Electronics Engineer to lead and grow our electronics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and guiding the team in the design, development, and delivery of electronic systems and components.

The role will be office-based in our Silverstone office, located in the beautiful countryside of Northamptonshire – a region with rich heritage in cutting – edge technology, from motorsport to telecommunications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of electronic engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and support
- Design, develop and verify electronic circuits, PCBA and embedded solutions
- Deliver excellent service and value to stakeholders
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication
- Capture requirements and specifications from clients
- Provide measurable project estimation and successful delivery
- Champion a high level of quality in workmanship, documentation and process
- Drive continuous improvement and best practices within the business
- Support recruitment and development of engineering talent within the team
- Stay current with emerging technologies, standards, and regulations relevant to electronics design
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a technical team
- Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (Master’s in a specialist subject will be preferred)
- Strong hardware electronics design experience
- Experience with PCB CAD tools, and design for manufacture and test
- Experience in design for and testing of EMC/EMI
- Product verification and approvals
- Experience working with project managers and within project management structures such as PRINCE2, utilising Waterfall and/or Agile methodology.
- Must have a car and a clean driving licence
Technical strengths in many of the following:
- Analogue and low - noise circuits
- High-speed digital, video and audio circuits
- Understanding of MCU and circuit design (for bare-metal, RTOS and up to Linux OS)
- Low-power and battery-powered systems and circuits
- Wireless and network interfaces, communication protocols
- Circuit analysis and modelling
Desirable
- Programming skills
- Logic design skills and experience (CPLDs/FPGAs, Verilog/VHDL)
- Specialist experience from a key technology sector such as aerospace, medical, ATEx, control systems or robotics
